Nissan Pushing Its Eco-Friendly Side!
Nissan, Japan’s auto-major will be releasing two of its new electric vehicles and adding a hybrid version of its popular model “Note” in early 2016. Almost 150,000 units of its electric model “Leaf” were sold worldwide last year. Leaf runs for about 228km per charge and is available for about US $23,600.
Along with Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan is developing yet another electric car that will have less range as compared to Leaf and will be available for about US $12,300. Currently Leaf is its only electric vehicle.
Where’s the crunch?
An electric car can travel for 200km on a single charge. So while it is great for short drives, it is not really a substitute for its gasoline counterparts.
However, the auto-majors across the world are trying to come up with Eco-friendly versions of cars as the emissions regulations are tightening.
