While Internet users have taken up to sophisticated ad-blocking software, companies as Google and Germany’s RTL are experimenting with means outside technology to fight the ad-blockers. Though the cat-and-mouse game will continue for some more time, the only solution that looks bright is Adblock Plus initiative to accept ads that meet particular guidelines. While it is a good attempt to attain a middle ground, it is yet to be seen how effective will this be in the long-run.
