Rare Snow Storm in the Middle East Cripples Normal Life
Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and other countries in the Middle East have been heavily hit by one of the strongest snow storms that the region has witnessed in years!
Although the economy in countries like Jordan witnessed a temporary boost days before the storm as people flocked to the markets to store food and fuel, life in the region suffered from a long slump due to the accumulated snowfall. Governmental offices, banks, companies and universities were closed last Wednesday until further notice.
The damage that the fierce storm has left affected other countries as flights to and from Jordan were cancelled due to the freezing weather conditions, leaving passengers stranded in the airports.
The economic and agricultural losses caused by the storm are yet to be announced.
