The App That Made Me Fall In Love With Reading Again
- The love of reading
- Arabic books
- Only one in five Arabs read on a regular basis
- E-Reading is continuously rising; about 4/10 adults read an e-book last year
To cut it short
After I graduated from university, I simply stopped reading. Coming from a former bibliophile and bookworm, this is very hard for me to admit, but I simply I let work, TV, and the Internet overtake books in my life. Reading has always been comforting to me. I relish being drawn into another world, another time, with new people and different stories every time.
I thought about trying Kindle and downloading e-books, but I was never into online shopping in general. Then I discovered Yaqut. It gave me all the Arabic books that I wanted for free. From fiction to poetry and history, I read it all. I never planned to start reading more, it just happened. I started picking out books and read them one by one, it was exactly what I needed. Reading didn’t feel like homework anymore, it felt like a journey that I fondly dove into and embraced…
That’s how I fell in love with reading again, and that’s how you can too.
