To cut it short
Did you grandparents ever tell you how they used to gather around the radio back in the day with family and friends just to listen to a song for Um Kulthum or Abdel Wahab?
Do you think they would have done that if the music playing was current pop music?
The standards of today’s mainstream music are becoming lower everyday. Singers are abusing their eras just to be commercially popular and songs are becoming void of any musical and lyrical meaning…
And that’s exactly what Yacoub Abu Ghosh is trying to change.
His upcoming album “2ayqithini”, will be a total game changer for Arabic music. He’s combining lyrical poetry with nostalgic oriental tunes in an attempt to recapture the glory of the golden years in Arabic music (read more about it here).
However, the project still needs support. Yacoub just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Zoomal to fund this album. The money will be used for production, musicians’ fees, and for mixing & mastering the music. You don’t have to be rich to be part of this; every dollar helps.
You can contribute both online and offline. Click here to learn more about the campaign and how you can be part of this incredible movement!
