Technologists and world leaders from around the world will converge at The Transforming Societies & Enabling Digital Economies for Smart Nations Conference. Focusing on the study of cloud computing, internet of things and big data in enabling digital economies and transforming societies into smart nations, the one-day conference will take place on 29th August 2016 at King Hussein Business Park, Jordan.
To be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II, the conference is a joint effort between The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan – Intaj and Global Science and Technology Forum – GSTF, Singapore. Thought leaders as Dr. Anton Ravindran, Prof. Liz Bacon and Mr. Teng Theng Dar will share winning growth strategies on the most pressing challenges for being a smart nation.
Dr. Anton is the CEO and Founder of RapidStart, President of Global Science and Technology Forum (GSTF) and an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Information Systems at Bina Nusantara University, Indonesia. Currently an Advisor and mentor to FundedHerere, TiKEE Pty Ltd, AutoLotto as well as DBS Business Class, Dr. Anton has worked for several major IT companies such as Oracle and IBM and has founded and spearheaded four IT companies.
Prof. Liz is a Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Greenwich. She is a Professor of Software Engineering with over a hundred publications and a Co-Director of the e-Centre research group. She has been involved in several EU research projects, including being Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator for two EU FP7 projects in the past four years. Within technology enhanced learning her research has focused on various areas such as: smart games-based learning environments; metacognition and learning strategies; and adaptable, adaptive and personalized systems.
Mr. Dar is currently serving as Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, MFA Singapore and as an Adviser, External Relations for SE Asia Region, Shizuoka Prefecture Government in Japan. He is also a member of Advisory Board, Singapore National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA); Steering Committee member, ASEAN-Japan Business Group, and a life member of Japan University Graduates Association Singapore (JUGAS).
